5 and 6 months

Dear G,

With moving and our first trip to Minnesota, I forgot all about writing your 5 and 6 month letters! You are a week away from being 7 months old, so I will try to remember as best I can.

Your first month in Texas we had lots of fun unpacking our stuff. You loved playing in the packing paper, the rustling and crunching noises were your favorite!

We did an early Halloween with the three of us since we were flying to Minnesota on the 31st and wouldn't be able to dress up and hand out candy. You "dressed up" as a bear, and helped us carve our pumpkin. We made a witch flying on a broom. We put some of the seeds and insides of the pumpkin on your high chair tray and you inspected them, although you weren't quite sure what to think about it all.

When we flew to Minnesota, you were great on the plane rides. You hardly cried at all, only for a few minutes until you fell asleep. You actually slept the entire way there and I got to take a little nap too!

While we were in Minnesota you got to meet almost your entire family. You had fun getting to know everyone, and you especially enjoyed hanging out with Grandpa. He did lots of fun things with you and hanging out with him was almost like being on the fair rides all the time!

You started sitting up!!

You had a few problems sleeping while we were away, and you also started to do some teething. You also started to eat 3 meals more consistently and got your first sippy cup!

The whole time we were gone you really missed your daddy. You loved when we got to call and talk to him over Facetime so that you could hear his voice and see his face.

You turned 6 months old just as we were leaving Minnesota to return to Texas.

Once we got home you had lots of fun hanging out with daddy again, but you did miss your family in Minnesota and we like to call them to chat quite often.

In the past few weeks you have started to roll around on the ground and you can get up on all fours and rock back and forth as if you are ready to crawl. It won't be long and you will be a moving machine!

At your 6 month check up you were 20.8 lbs (86%) and inches (37%).

You are just starting to enjoy some finger foods. So far you have tried toast, rice rusks, avocado pieces, and a taste of black olives.

As always, you love when we go outside for walks and you enjoy when the wind blows on your face and through your toes. You also love petting Gus, standing (with help) and bouncing up and down.

I can't wait to see what 7 months holds!

Love always,

Mama
